Icons are like buses…you wait for ages and then two come along at once !

We wrote recently about the new YSL Style is Eternal exhibition at the Bowes Museum in NE England, and now, proving that style really IS eternal up pops a wonderful new Audrey Hepburn exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Entitled Portraits of an icon, the exhibition handily uses the 65th anniversary of her appearance as a dancer and chorus girl at the once-acclaimed Ciro’s nightclub (in a building which now houses the offices of the National Portrait Gallery !) to her role as an ambassafor for UNICEF by showcasing a collection of around 60 images from a roll-call of some of the greatest photographers…Cecil Beaton, Irving Penn, Norman Parkinson, Karsh, Avedon, O’Neill.

It shows a fascinating life of an icon through a lens and is well worth seeing if you are in London
